It’s no secret that I do a lot of driving during the week and I often make the most of this time by listening to podcasts on just about anything. I love learning and find it so motivating as I am sure most of you do too. Here I have put together my podcast list for you in the hope that you too can make the most of your time and continue the journey of being a dietitian and business owner and everything else you are and all the hats you wear.

1. SAVE MONEY

When collaborating with others, you are dividing the workload and sometimes the expenses. For example, instead of hiring a videographer, you can partner with an influencer who knows how to do videography. This allows you to save money and also invest money back into providing quality content.

1. RISE PODCAST

Whilst I’m yet to get my hands on Girl Wash Your Face, I do love Rachel Hollis’ RISE podcast. She provides you with the tools you need and the advice she shares is actually useful enough to take action and achieve results from. Her guests are intriguing, as well as sharing her own personal journey and experience. It’s the motivation any girl needs to get moving with your business. She also shares a podcast with her husband Dave Hollis RISE TOGETHER which I find just as enjoyable. They are bold, they push you and they make you take action. I love listening to how they manage life together because sometimes it feels like Daniel and I need all the tips we can get with a business, 4 kids and life all going on simultaneously.

2. THE LUCKY BITCH PODCAST

It’s refreshing to hear an Aussie from the speaker for a change. In this podcast Denise Duffield-Thomas who is a business coach and motivational speaker shares her tips to help women create success. It’s all about manifesting your dreams and the laws of attraction.

3. ONE WILD RIDE

A past business coach for me and trained psychologist come business coach, Pru shares unscripted conversations with ordinary humans doing extraordinary things. She dives deep into their highs and lows, their challenges and their triumphs. I find this podcast humbling, knowing the grassroots story of all of her guests who are or aren’t very well known. It’s not always about the spotlight.

4. LADY STARTUP

From the makers of Mamamia, Rachel Corbett sits down with female entrepreneurs to discover how they built their businesses from the ground up. Completely inspiring and my favourite podcast is from Diem Fuggersberger, the Founder of Coco and Lucas, who makes ready made frozen kids meals. Her story is truly inspirational.

5. DIETITIAN CONNECTED

A definite go to if you are a dietitian. It aims to inspire you; challenge you and empower you to be a nutrition leader and realise your dreams. There are so many dietitians out there doing such wonderful work, it’s nice to get a snapshot of that work and feel like you live outside your little bubble for a little while.

6. DIETITIAN BOSS WITH LIBBY ROTHSCHILD

Libby has really taken her business to a whole new level in the past 2 years with the work she is doing online and mentoring. In her podcast, she inspires Nutrition and Fitness professionals to make lasting impact in their niche and manage multiple streams of income. There is some great marketing material in this podcast for anyone wanting to grow their business online. As she says though, you need to be ready to take action.

7. THE GOAL DIGGER PODCAST

Jenna was one of the very first podcasts I really got “into”. She makes it seem so easy and covers all the things that both you and me are thinking right now- how do I leave my 9-5, when is the right time, how can I create passive income, what kind of marketing do I need to do, when to hire. She has also had the best of the best feature on her podcast, think Amy Porterfield & Melyssa Griffin.

8. THE LEVERAGED PRACTICE

A relatively new one added to the podcasting scene, dietitian Stephanie Clairmont talks you through how to up level your business and knowledge and experience through the creation of online programs. For quick tips, insightful interviews and actionable strategies to get your program out into the world, you better add this one to your favourites.

9. FEARLESS PRACTITIONERS

Adrien Paczosa gives practical tips for building your dream practice.

Then we have all the clinical podcasts if you want to stick to more of the what we actually do as dietitians rather than business owners.

1. NUTRITION MATTERS

Paige Smathers focuses on helping people who have overcome eating disorders, weight struggles and food issues.

2. RD REAL TALK – REGISTERED DIETITIANS KEEPING IT REAL

3. FOOD PSYCH PODCAST

The Health at Every Size podcast where Christy talks about ones relationship with food, body image, eating disorders, weight and size acceptance, non-diet approach, exercise, body politics, feminism, self compassion and self care. This podcast is designed to offer safe and non triggering support for listeners in recovery.

4. THE NUTRITION DIVA’S QUICK AND DIRTY TIPS FOR EATING WELL AND FEELING FABULOUS

Monica’s philosophy is to take the stress out of eating and allow you to enjoy food. A message most of our patients could benefit from right?

5. DIETITIANS UNPLUGGED

Another podcast devoted to the Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating and body positive movement that encourages you to improve your health, body image and fitness without obsessing on the scale or counting calories.

6. THE NUTRITION NERDS PODCAST

I swear I didn’t even know what a podcast was when I was at uni let alone think about doing one. Dietetic students Jenn Baugh and Kelli Yates bring to your ears The Nutrition Nerds Podcast.

7. LETTUCE EXPLAIN

Dietitians Tammy Harper and Kelly Shaughnessy fill you in on all things health and wellness.

8. THE NOURISHED CHILD

This one is specifically for dietitians with an interest in child nutrition, feeding kids and dealing with the ups and downs of raising healthy eaters.

Wow, what a list but I hope there’s a few secret gems in there for you that you perhaps didn’t know about.
